Chapter Books

My writing adventure began with a chapter book idea…and on a retreat to dog-sit my granddog Maddi, in St. Louis, I finished this little novel, Bigelow – A Backwoods Tale.

“In the woods just above Crubber Creek, at the foot of a low sloping rise, there was a bunny born on a cold spring day, just when the last snow came early one morning, and the same day the first buds appeared on the redbud trees.

He was the only bunny born in those woods that spring.”

It still needs some work, some story editing…but it has great illustrations throughout by Andy Johnson, a talented artist with the ability to draw emotion and feeling into characters from the pages of  story.

As this work moves toward publication, I’ll be updating the progress.
