Interpreting Wonder Well

Shutta Crum alerted me to this short film, nominated for an Oscar in animated shorts, which relates the tale “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” by William Joyce.
I was deeply touched by the beauty of the story, much less the moving interpretation of the story in animated form.
This was my immediate comment on Shutta’ blog:
“Heart rendering….touches the tender middle of me.
Makes my eyes fill with a grateful tide of tears.
To those who wrote, who read for me when small or old,
Oh how you’ve melted and molded all my learning, wondering years.”
The film caught–and translated–the wonder I feel is so central to meaningful writing and storytelling. So I have to share it with you here on my page too: Morris Lessmore film
